Face mask for tired-looking skin: TIFAWT, blue nila and prickly pear

Written by Hussam Aitelqadi, founder of AZOURANE.

If your face looks tired and lacks freshness, a mask can be a useful weekly step. TIFAWT is a finished emulsion face mask. You do not mix it with water, oil or another product. Apply it directly from the jar, leave it on for ten minutes and rinse.

Two points matter most. Do not wait until the mask dries completely and begins to crack. And the formula's blue colour does not come from nila alone.

What is actually in the blue formula

According to the product technical documentation, the main blue pigment in TIFAWT is CI 77510. The formula also contains Indigofera tinctoria leaf powder, known as nila, but lower in the ingredient list. It would not be accurate to say that the mask gets its colour only from natural nila.

Kaolin provides the clay component. Glycerin helps the formula hold moisture, while prickly pear seed oil, almond oil and vitamin E support the emulsion base. TIFAWT also contains fragrance, linalool and coumarin. If your skin does not tolerate fragranced products or almond oil, read the full ingredient list before first use.

This is a finished formula made in Morocco. Its ingredients do not need to be separated, added to or mixed at home.

Who may find this weekly step useful

TIFAWT makes sense when you want skin to look fresher after rinsing and prefer a short mask between cleansing and moisturising. Kaolin can help absorb some surface oil, but the result should be understood as a temporary change in appearance and feel, not a permanent change.

If your skin already feels uncomfortable, stings or is visibly flaking, skip the mask that day. A routine is not better simply because it has more steps.

How to use the TIFAWT mask

  1. Wash your face with a gentle cleanser and rinse with lukewarm water.
  2. Apply a thin, even layer to clean skin. Avoid the eye and lip areas.
  3. Leave the mask on for ten minutes. Do not wait for it to dry completely, tighten or crack.
  4. Rinse with lukewarm water without rough rubbing.
  5. Apply a moisturiser that already suits you, or one to two drops of argan oil while skin is still slightly damp.

Start once a week. If your skin remains comfortable after use, you can use the mask up to twice a week. A thicker layer or longer wear time does not create a better result.

How to adapt the mask to your skin

If your T-zone becomes oily more quickly: apply the usual thin layer to the forehead, nose and chin. Use an even thinner layer on the cheeks if needed.

If your skin tends to feel dry: keep to once a week, rinse before the mask feels tight and finish with moisturiser.

If this is your first use: try a small amount on a limited area of skin. This lets you see how your skin responds to the fragranced formula before applying it to the full face.

What to use after rinsing

After the mask, restore a comfortable feel with your usual moisturiser. If you prefer an oil, warm one to two drops of 100% argan oil between your palms and press them onto slightly damp skin. You do not need both if one finishing step is enough for you.

How to read the result after rinsing

A good result is simple: skin feels clean, looks fresher and is ready for the finishing step in your routine. TIFAWT works best as a ten minute weekly ritual without turning one mask into an entire routine.
