Which AZOURANE products are sulfate-free?

Sulfate-free: AMAAN face cleanser, IHLA shampoo, LHRIR conditioner, ANU body milk, ANNAY serum and SANOUJ oil. ALJIG body wash uses sodium laureth sulfate as its main surfactant, and TAFUKT body polish uses sulfonate surfactants. The full ingredient list for every product is further down this page.

What is aker fassi?

Aker fassi is a traditional Moroccan red tint for lips and cheeks. In the AZGGAGH balm the red comes from iron oxides CI 77491, and poppy (Papaver rhoeas flower extract) sits in the formula alongside castor oil, almond, shea and beeswax. The balm works on both lips and cheeks.

What is blue nila?

Nila is the Moroccan name for indigo, the plant Indigofera tinctoria. In the TIFAWT mask nila is present as leaf powder. The blue of the mask itself comes from the pigment CI 77510. The mask also carries prickly pear seed oil, kaolin clay and almond oil.

Which products contain fragrance?

Fragrance is listed in the INCI for AMAAN, ALJIG, ANU, TAFUKT and TIFAWT. For the ANNAY serum and the SANOUJ oil, fragrance is not listed in the INCI. Declared fragrance allergens by product: hexyl cinnamal in AMAAN, linalool in ALJIG, citronellol, geraniol and linalool in ANU, linalool and coumarin in TIFAWT.

Which products are not vegan?

The ANNAY serum contains marine hydrolyzed collagen and the AZGGAGH balm contains beeswax (cera alba). Both are animal derived, so those two products are not vegan.

I have an allergy. What should I check?

Almond oil is in TAFUKT, TIFAWT, AZGGAGH and LHRIR. Shea butter is in TAFUKT, ANU, AZGGAGH and LHRIR. Hydrolysed wheat protein is in IHLA. Beeswax is in AZGGAGH. Coffee is in TAFUKT. What is the pH of the products?

AMAAN, ALJIG, ANU and IHLA sit at pH 5.0 to 5.5. The LHRIR conditioner is 4.0 to 4.5. The TIFAWT mask is 5.5 to 6.0. Argan oil, SANOUJ, TAFUKT and AZGGAGH are anhydrous formulas or pure oils, so pH does not apply to them.

How pure is your argan oil?

The INCI has one ingredient: Argania spinosa kernel oil. It is cold pressed, first press and unrefined. The limits and the methods that purity is judged against are set out on the argan oil specification page.

What does INCI mean?

INCI is the International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients. Ingredients are listed from the largest share downwards, down to one percent, and below that the order is free. That is why the first three or four names tell you most about what a product actually is.
