What each ingredient does
- Aqua
- The water base. Every other ingredient dissolves into it and spreads evenly.
- Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride
- A light plant-derived oil. It gives the formula its glide and slows water evaporating off the skin.
- Cetearyl Alcohol
- A plant-derived fatty alcohol. It builds the thickness you feel and holds the formula together.
- Glycerin
- A humectant. It binds water and holds it at the surface, so what it touches stays soft instead of dry.
- Glyceryl Stearate
- The emulsifier. It binds water and oils into one even blend that does not separate.
- Cetearyl Glucoside
- An emulsifier. With glyceryl stearate it binds water and oils into a smooth white cream.
- Hydrogenated Ethylhexyl Olivate
- From olive oil. An emollient that softens the skin and spreads easily.
- Hydrogenated Olive Oil Unsaponifiable
- From olive oil. It softens the skin and gives the cream its silky finish.
- Argania Spinosa (Argan) Kernel Oil
- Moroccan argan oil. The nourishing plant oil that conditions and softens.
- Rosa Damascena Flower Water
- Damask rose water. It refreshes the skin.
- Opuntia Ficus-Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil
- An emollient that softens and smooths the skin.
- Butyrospermum Parkii Butter
- Shea butter. It nourishes dry skin and leaves it soft.
- Xylitylglucoside
- Part of the sugar complex that helps skin hold on to moisture, so it does not feel tight.
- Anhydroxylitol
- Works with the rest of the sugar complex to help skin hold on to moisture.
- Xylitol
- A sugar alcohol that binds water and completes the hydrating side of the formula.
- Xanthan Gum
- Gives the formula its body and holds it steady, so the texture on the last use matches the first.
- Benzyl Alcohol
- A preservative. It keeps the formula sound once it is open and in daily use.
- Dehydroacetic Acid
- The second half of the preservative system. It works alongside benzyl alcohol to protect a water-based formula.
