Inside the formula

  • Blue Nila and kaolin

Blue Nila is part of TIFAWT's identity, while kaolin absorbs excess surface oil and helps cleanse pores. CI 77510 gives the formula its blue colour.

  • Prickly pear seed oil

Opuntia Ficus-Indica Seed Oil works as an emollient in the formula. Sweet almond oil and glycerin sit alongside it.

  • A thin layer, 200 g

One use takes only a thin layer, and the jar holds 200 g. Use it once or twice a week.

The finished TIFAWT mask is made by women in Moroccan collectives. Open the jar, apply a thin layer, and rinse after ten to fifteen minutes.

How to use

A thin layer, ten to fifteen minutes.

  1. Apply to clean skin

A thin, even layer across the face, painted on. Keep it away from the eye area.

  2. Leave it ten to fifteen minutes

The clay does its work in that time. There is no need to leave it longer.

  3. Rinse with lukewarm water

The water lifts the layer off without scrubbing. Then pat your face dry.

  4. Use it once or twice a week

After rinsing, follow with your cream or a few drops of oil.

Product questions
Where does the blue come from?
Blue Nila is one ingredient in the formula. CI 77510, a synthetic pigment, provides the blue colour. The formula also contains kaolin, prickly pear seed oil, sweet almond oil and glycerin.
What does it smell like?
Soft and pleasant, close to the ingredients themselves. The formula lists Fragrance, Linalool and Coumarin, so it is a scented mask.
When do I use it, and how often?
With clean fingertips, pick up a small amount from the surface and spread a thin layer over clean skin. Keep clear of the eye area, then rinse with lukewarm water after ten to fifteen minutes. Use once or twice a week.
How long does one jar last?
A long time. One use is only a thin layer, so a 200 g jar empties slowly.
What if it is not for me?
You pay at the door when the parcel arrives, and you can return it within 14 days.

INCI

Aqua, Glyceryl Stearate, CI77510, Glycerin, Cetearyl Alcohol, Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) Oil, Kaolin, Stearic Acid, Opuntia Ficus-Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil, Ethylhexylglycerine, Benzyl Alcohol, Xanthan Gum, Indigofera Tinctoria Leaf Powder, Tocopherol, Dehydroacetic Acid, Fragrance, Linalool, Coumarin.

What each ingredient does
Aqua
The water base. Every other ingredient dissolves into it and spreads evenly.
Glyceryl Stearate
The emulsifier. It binds water and oils into one even blend that does not separate.
CI77510
A synthetic pigment. It gives the mask its deep blue.
Glycerin
A humectant. It binds water and holds it at the surface, so what it touches stays soft instead of dry.
Cetearyl Alcohol
A plant-derived fatty alcohol. It builds the thickness you feel and holds the formula together.
Prunus Amygdalus Dulcis (Almond) Oil
Sweet almond oil. A gentle plant emollient that conditions and softens.
Kaolin
White clay. It absorbs surface oil and gives the mask its thick, smooth body.
Stearic Acid
A fatty acid. It builds the mask's structure and keeps it in place while it works.
Opuntia Ficus-Indica (Prickly Pear) Seed Oil
It conditions the skin and leaves it soft once the mask is rinsed off.
Ethylhexylglycerine
Supports the preservative system so the formula stays sound.
Benzyl Alcohol
A preservative. It keeps the formula sound once it is open and in daily use.
Xanthan Gum
Gives the formula its body and holds it steady, so the texture on the last use matches the first.
Indigofera Tinctoria Leaf Powder
Nila, ground indigo leaf. It conditions the skin and gives the mask its name. The blue itself comes from the pigment CI 77510.
Tocopherol
Vitamin E. The antioxidant that keeps the oils from oxidizing, so they stay fresh to the end of the pack.
Dehydroacetic Acid
The second half of the preservative system. It works alongside benzyl alcohol to protect a water-based formula.
Fragrance
The scent. It carries the aroma you get while the mask sits on the face.
Linalool
A component of the fragrance. Named on its own because it is on the EU fragrance allergen list.
Coumarin
A component of the fragrance. Named on its own because it is on the EU fragrance allergen list.
